Recorded live to a sold out Harbour Bar at the Bray Comedy Festival, here are the highlights of the very first Paddy Irishman, Paddy Englishwoman, Paddy Scotsman podcast. Featuring a mix of stand up, chat and improv, Paul, Elinor and Ben get to the heart of the real questions: Can Irish people tell the difference between Tayto and King in a blind test? Is it ever okay to talk to random folk at the bus stop? And just how bad is the news in Ireland that they need an Angelus before they can watch it?
With many thanks to Adam Burke.

In the last episode of the first series Paul, Elinor and Ben pick up where they left off - by talking about everything except what they'd actually planned. Can Jedward ward off ghosts? Who out of Boyzone is now a tyre salesman? Which Spice Girl went off on one at Paul in an airport? Do Ryan Tubridy's birds even get a look-in when he brings home the seed? All will be revealed in the bumper season finale!

The Paddy Irishman, Paddy Englishwoman and Paddy Scotsman podcast

The brand new podcast where three stand up comedians from Ireland, England and Scotland chat and joke all things life in Ireland.

PAUL MARSH is a multi-award winning comedian from Tipperary who has been a regular on the Irish comedy scene for over 13 years. He has appeared on Irish TV shows Laughter in the Eyre and There’s Something About Patrick, on radio with a weekly spot on FM104 as ‘The Punmaster’, and has also hosted his own podcast Joke Detector.

Paul is the resident host of two monthly comedy clubs in Tallaght and Wicklow Town, and further afield, Paul regularly appears in UK clubs like Glee and The Stand, and has brought 3 successful solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

In 2022 Paul published his first book ‘Irish Dad Jokes’

‘The one-liner King of Ireland’ - The Laughter Lounge, Dublin

‘The best gag merchant in Irish comedy’ - The International Comedy Club, Dublin

ELINOR MURPHY. After performing stand up for the first time a week before her 36th birthday, Elinor quickly made waves on the Irish comedy scene, winning Bray Comedy Festival's "Best New Act 2022" at her fourth-ever gig. Three months later, she was part of the lineup at the Paddy Power Comedy Festival, returning in 2023, alongside Derry Girls’ legend Kevin McAleer. She has also performed at Body & Soul Festival, and made the finals of "Show me the Funny 2023".

Originally from the UK, Elinor obtained her Irish citizenship four years ago, attending a lovely ceremony in County Kerry where all new Irish citizens were granted chips on their shoulder along with their passports. Her journey to citizenship was also featured in the RTÉ documentary Becoming Irish which aired in March 2020, when absolutely nothing else was going on in the world.

"A rising star. Absolutely one to watch" - Hardy Har Comedy Club

BEN VERTH is a stand up comedian from Edinburgh, now living it up in Dublin. He regularly gigs all over the UK and Ireland, and has been described as “snappy and slow-burning, crude and classy” (The Skinny) with “sharp writing… beautifully timed” (The Scotsman) and a “stage presence that ricochets off the back wall” (Broadway Baby).

He has written and performed for some legendary TV and Radio shows back in his native Scotland (BBC’s The Karen Dunbar Show, Only An Excuse?, Scot Squad and The Good, The Bad and The Unexpected, STV’s The Late Show) and he is co-founder of Edinburgh’s multi-award-winning Monkey Barrel Comedy Club.
